Doctors for Global Health

Todd Barnett, Emory Physician Assistant Program, Emory University School of Medicine

Mr. Barnett is a student in Emory's Physician Assistant Program at the Emory University School of Medicine. As a Global Health Institute Scholar, he worked with the Nicaragua-based non-governmental organization Atencion Primaria en Salud (APS), which is a partner of the Decatur, Georgia-based Doctors for Global Health. As part of his global health field scholar experience, Mr. Barnett provided supervised healthcare in a rural clinic in Managua, Nicaragua, which helped address access to care issues in this low-resource country. He also helped train rural health promotion workers, which will strengthen the APS's health worker network.
