Request for Proposal and Environs of Proposed SEC2010 Monument at World Health Organization Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland

The Secretariat of the SEC2010, hosted at the Emory Global Health Institute, has announced a public Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design of a Monument commemorating the eradication of Smallpox. The full text of the RFP is available here.

The Monument will be installed and unveiled on the publicly accessible front lawn of the heardquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of ceremonies and events in May 2010, which marks the 30th anniversary of the elimination of this scourge of humankind. The 14 photographs below and their links to larger, higher-resolution images are provided to inform submitters of proposed designs of the aesthetic and architectural surroundings in which the Monument will be located. The exact location will be determined at a later date by the WHO.
