Jyothi Rengarajan, PhD

Dr. Rengarajan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases of the Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the Emory faculty, she was a research associate in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Harvard University, where she also obtained her doctorate in biological sciences in 2001.

Dr. Rengarajan's research interest is in the field of bacterial pathogenesis with a focus on tuberculosis research and vaccine development. Her long-term research interests are in identifying candidate proteins that might serve as biomarkers of disease in infected people. Her goals at Emory are to develop an outstanding program in the tuberculosis pathogenesis and immunology of this global disease and to participate in the development of a tuberculosis program as a component of the ICGEB-Emory Vaccine Center.

Dr. Rengarajan has published extensively and is currently leading several active grant projects.
