Faculty Distinction Fund Awardee Saad B. Omer, PhD, MPH, MBBS Dr. Omer is an Assistant Professor of Global Health at Emory's Rollins School of Public Health. Prior to joining the Emory faculty, Dr. Omer was an assistant scientist in the Global Disease Epidemiology and Control Program at Johns Hopkins University, where he received his doctorate in international health in 2006. Dr. Omer's research interests include vaccine coverage and efficacy, which includes questions of effectiveness and program sustainability. He has expert quantitative skills and is especially interested in spatial epidemiology and modeling. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the American Journal of Epidemiology. He has also conducted studies focusing on infectious disease surveillance in Guatemala, Uganda, Ethiopa, India, and Pakistan. Dr. Omer received his MPH from Johns Hopkins and his medical degree (MBBS) from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. For more information, contact: |
