Type 2 Diabetes: A Global Problem Needing Global Solutions

The Emory Global Health Institute co-sponsored this conference with the Hubert Department of Global Health of the Rollins School of Public Health. The event took place on December 8, and included several speakers who are experts in the field of diabetes research. Speakers included: KM Venkat Narayan, the Ruth and OC Hubert Chair of Global Health and Epidemiology at the Rollins School of Public Health; Ann Albright, Director of the Division of Diabetes Translation at the CDC; Robert Stephenson, Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health; Nigel Unwin of the Diabetes Unit of the World Health Organization; Jaakko Tuomilehto of the University of Helsinki; Ambady Ramachandran of the India Diabetes Research Foundation; Pablo Aschner of the Colombian Diabetes Association; and Eugene Sobngwi of Newcastle University and the University of Yaounde 1 in Cameroon.
