Events Awareness and Management of Hansen's Disease (Leprosy) in the United States Emory faculty members Drs. Carlos Franco and Phyllis Kozarsky along with speakers from the National Hansen's Disease Program (NHDP) hosted this one-day program for doctors, nurses, and other health care practitioners on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in the Glenn Auditorium of Emory Crawford Long Hospital, 550 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30308. Topics discussed included information about the NHDP; the epidemiology and biology of Hansen's Disease; the clinical, immunological, and histopathological spectrum of Hansen's Disease; an overview of the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Hansen's Disease; and local case presentations.
