Prospects for Global Health

Solomon R. Benatar, MBChB, DSc, FFA (SA), FRCP, FRSSAf, gave a lecture entitled "Prospects for Global Health" on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in the Winship Ballroom of Emory University's Dobbs University Center. Dr. Benatar is Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Founding Director of the University of Cape Town's Bioethics Centre. He was Chairman of the University of Cape Town's Department of Internal Medicine and Chief Phyisican at Grotte Schuur Hospital from 1980-1999. He also holds appointments as a Visiting Professor in Public Health Sciences and Medicine at the University of Toronto and is Director of an NIH (Fogarty International Center) funded program for capacity building in International Research Ethics in southern Africa. The Emory University Center for Ethics and the Emory Global Health Institute co-sponsored his lecture.
