Global Health Institute Team Field Scholars

The Global Health Institute Team Field Scholars Program promotes student learning by linking academic study with practical experience in the field. Students work in teams (preferably multidisciplinary) to conduct short-term global health projects focusing on underserved and/or vulnerable populations around the world. It is expected that each team member work on a different aspect of the same global health issue. Team applicants can conduct projects either abroad or within the United States, however, they must demonstrate a significant need in the population with whom they propose to work. Scholarship teams will receive up to $3,000 per student to conduct their projects.

Who can apply?

Emory students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply for Team Field Scholar Awards. Applicants must have prior research experience/appropriate coursework and/or have participated in a relevant independent project. Applicants must have an Emory and an in-country field mentor, and they must partner with an in-country organization. Proficiency in the project country's primary language is preferred, but not required. Priority will be given to team proposals that include students from multiple Emory schools and departments. A maximum of four students can comprise a team.

Deadlines for Applications are:
