Internal Advisory Committee Thomas J. Lawley, MD
Dean Lawley has published over 150 original articles and book chapters, and his research interests include cell biology of endothelial cells and the regulation of cell adhesion molecules and inflammation. He has served on many boards and committees, including NIH study sections and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council. He currently serves on the Administrative Council of the Association of American Medical Colleges. He is president of the Emory Medical Care Foundation, Emory’s physician practice plan at Grady Hospital, and president of the Emory Children’s Center. He also services on the boards of directors of the Emory Clinic and Emory Healthcare. Dean Lawley is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, and the American Clinical and Climatologic Association. He has received numerous honors and awards including the Pfizer Award, the Hoechst Award, the Public Health Service Superior Award, and the Marion Sulzberger Award given by the American Academy of Dermatology as 1995 Professor of the Year in Dermatology. Additionally, he has served on the editorial boards of several journals and is President Elect of the Society of Investigative Dermatology. |
