Goals and Activities

Our Goals
The primary goals of the Emory Global Health Institute are to:

  1. Develop a strong academic infrastructure in global health at Emory University,
  2. Develop and nurture global health partnerships, and
  3. Foster global health research and scholarship.

How We Work
To meet these goals, the Emory Global Health Institute engages in the following activities.

  • Identifies high-priority opportunities for strategically aligned faculty growth, and supports the University’s hiring of world-class scholars engaged in global health work;
  • Provides direction and support to Emory faculty and their local and global partners to conduct innovative, high impact global health research studies and programs;
  • Convenes seminars and conferences to share information on effective global health initiatives and to develop global health leaders and partners;
  • Provides global health training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, and supports the expansion of global health curricula across the University; and
  • Brings global health experts to Emory to share their knowledge and expertise with the Emory community.
